Every line is sourced from Jiangsu mills and workshops, sampled in the hand before it is approved, and consolidated into weekly container departures from our THE CLOUD office on Tung Chau Street in Tai Kok Tsui, Hong Kong. The Trade House

A trading house built like a sample loom

Jiangsu Star Light International Trading Limited is a light industrial trading house registered in Hong Kong and sourced from the mill towns of Jiangsu Province. We do not run a factory floor. We run a sample loom, a set of long-standing mill relationships and a shipping desk, and we use all three to move household goods from the workshop to the retail shelf with the least possible friction.

The house began with a simple observation: overseas retailers do not need another broker who forwards a catalogue. They need a partner who understands weave counts, yarn blends, carton dimensions, pallet patterns and the small tolerance differences that decide whether a shipment sells or sits. So we built the business around the sample first. A towel, a duvet cover, an electric kettle or a box of cabinet hinges is ordered as a hand sample, measured, washed, assembled and photographed before any bulk commitment is made. Only after a sample passes does the line go to production and then to a consolidated container.

That discipline carries through every category we touch. Our woven lines, home linens, small appliances and hardware are all managed by the same process: source the mill or workshop, define the specification, sample the lot, inspect the run and consolidate the shipment. It is one rhythm repeated across many products, and it is the reason our retail partners can plan a season without holding their breath.

Textile and Linen Lines

Our textile and linen work covers towels, bedding, table linens, kitchen textiles and light upholstery fabric sourced from established Jiangsu mills. We specify yarn count, weave structure and finish, then sample each construction in the hand before it reaches bulk production. This is the line where our sample loom matters most, because a two percent difference in cotton content or a tighter pick count changes how a product feels on the shelf.

Home Appliance Lots

We place small domestic appliances with retailers who need dependable volumes without owning a factory relationship. Kettles, rice cookers, fans, food processors, air fryers and garment steamers are sourced from workshops we have visited, tested and qualified. Each lot is checked against destination-market electrical standards, plug types and packaging requirements before it leaves the workshop.

Hardware and Fittings

Hardware is the quiet line that holds a shop together. We source cabinet hinges, drawer slides, handles, brackets, fasteners, builders hardware and light metal fittings from Jiangsu workshops that work in steel, zinc alloy and aluminium. Our role is to make sure the finish matches the specification, the tolerances match the drawing and the plating survives a salt spray test where the buyer requires it.

Because hardware is heavy and dense, we pay close attention to pallet weight, carton stacking and container fill, so that freight is spent on product rather than on air. Read the hardware service

OEM Sourcing Programs

Some retailers arrive with a drawing, a sample of their own or a private label idea and no supply chain behind it. Our OEM sourcing program takes that starting point and builds a production line around it. We identify candidate workshops, request counter-samples, compare cost and capability, and manage the tooling, print and packaging development on the buyer behalf.

Quality Inspection and QC Reports

Inspection is where a trading house either earns trust or loses it. We run in-line and pre-shipment inspection on textiles, appliances and hardware, checking measurements, stitch and weave quality, electrical function, finish and packaging against the approved sample. Each inspection produces a written report with photographs so the buyer sees exactly what the inspector saw.

Consolidated Container Shipping

Once goods pass inspection they move into our consolidation program. Cartons from several mills and workshops are gathered, marked, palletised and loaded into shared or dedicated containers, with weekly departures arranged through Hong Kong and mainland gateways. The buyer receives one set of shipping documents instead of a dozen.

We handle booking, loading supervision, document preparation and destination coordination, and we keep the buyer informed at each checkpoint from booking to arrival. Read the shipping service

Process

From first thread to loaded container

Brief and specification

We start with the retail brief: product type, target price, destination market, packaging expectation and volume. That conversation becomes a written specification covering materials, construction, measurements, labelling and test requirements.

Sampling and approval

Candidate mills and workshops produce counter-samples against the specification. We review, measure and test each one, share photographs with the buyer and refine until a single approved sample is signed off and held as the reference standard.

Production and in-line check

Bulk production begins against the approved sample. Our inspectors visit during the run to check weave, stitch, assembly and function while defects can still be corrected rather than discovered at the end.

Pre-shipment inspection

Before packing closes, we inspect the finished lot against the sample, count the cartons, verify labels and produce a written report with photographs. Any lot outside the agreed limit is held back.

Consolidation and sailing

Approved cartons move to consolidation, are marked and palletised for the container plan, and sail on the next weekly departure with one complete set of shipping documents.
